Terms and Conditions

Studio Tao Pilates

Fitness and Health

  • It is your sole responsibility to check with your doctor or medical practitioner about suitability for our classes and to obtain his/her written consent where necessary. While we take every care to ensure safe practices, there are inherent risks in any exercise programme and we accept no liability whatsoever for any injury or illness you incur through our classes or by your failure to notify us of any existing health problems or special needs.

  • Inform your instructor, before your session, about changes in your medical condition or any circumstances affecting your health which may be exacerbated through continued use of the Studio and/or which may have arisen or worsen since your last session at the Studio (if any).

  • Your instructors may offer their professional advice relating to your ability to exercise. We reserve the right to refuse access to any client if we consider that your health may be endangered by the use of the Studio facilities.

  • In regards to Health and Safety and Risk Assessment for Online sessions, please look for further information at the Online Sessions section.

    Aged 16 or under

  • If you are aged 16 or under, please get your parent or guardian’s permission before making a booking.

    Availability

  • Classes are always subject to availability and instructors and class times are subject to change.

  • We may cancel any session if an instructor becomes ill or cannot schedule a replacement. If so, we will cancel your booking and treat that session as unused. You can then make another booking, and extend the expiry date of that session accordingly.

  • If the studio is closed due to bank holidays, festive or holiday seasons, we will cancel any bookings for sessions which fall within the affected period (i.e., converting them to unused sessions) and extend the expiry date of your unused sessions accordingly. You will be given notice in advance of the cancellation and options for rescheduling your session, if an alternative holiday schedule is available.

Payments – Appointment Bookings and Expiry of Sessions

  • All classes must be prepaid and all clients agree to our 24hour notice policy when cancelling and/or rescheduling. So, if you’re booked into a class, but miss it or cancel with less than 24hours notice, you will be charged for it.

  • Pre-paid classes are valid for up to 6 months from the date of purchase unless otherwise stated. (Please look at the Price list for more information in regards to the different packages and their expiry date).

  • You can transfer your session or sessions to a member of your family (who has read and agreed to the Terms and Conditions and has completed a Client Form) but not to any other person.

  • If an association or organisation you work with or are a client of, has arranged a group deal, you can purchase sessions using the applicable group deal rate while you work with or are a client of that association or organisation. You must provide proof of your eligibility for the relevant group and understand that you will only be eligible for sessions scheduled for the specific group deal and not all classes available from the studio. You must let us know as soon as you cease to be entitled to a group deal.

  • If you are aware that you are unable to travel to the studio due to personal or work purposes or a last-minute situation has arisen, but still wish to keep your Pilates session, you may notify us and request an Online session. Please try and give us enough notice in order to create the necessary links for an Online session. The session will still be charged the same rate as a studio session.

    Cancellations and Late Cancellations

  • The cancellation period runs from the time you make the booking until the time which is 24hours before the scheduled start time of the booked session.

  • A cancellation request can be made in person to your instructor, via telephone or by email during the cancellation period. Please note that if you make a cancellation request via voice mail, text or through a social media platform your cancellation request might not be received on time and you are taking the risk of us not receiving it during the cancellation period.

  • Once your cancellation is received your session will be treated as unused and available to make another booking.

  • Cancellation requests made less than 24hours before a session, or if you fail to attend your session, will considered a late cancellation and you will not be entitled to a refund or reschedule that booking.

    Duration

  • All classes are 55 minutes long.

  • Out of consideration for other clients, lateness for a private class will result in your session being short-ended.

  • Out of consideration for the instructor and other clients, and also for your own safety please be aware that if you arrive more than 5 minutes late for a group class, you may not be allowed to participate and no refund will be given.

    Data Protection

  • We will not sell, share or forward any personal or financial information with any other party. Only your instructor has access to your personal data in order to be able to make bookings, cancellations, take payments and access your health record as well as training programme.

  • We would like to keep in touch with you by email about any Pilates news, studio news and marketing information. You can tell us at anytime if you prefer not to receive these.

    Online sessions

  • All above Terms and Conditions apply to Online sessions.

  • Zoom will be used for all Online sessions and it is your responsibility to agree to Zoom Terms of Service and any other policies.

  • You will receive a separate zoom meeting ID and password at the beginning of each session (considering your session is paid). If you have a recurring appointment, we may endeavour to keep the codes the same. This is not applicable for children under 16 for child protection purposes.

  • For under 16s, parents or guardians will receive an email with the link on the day of the session.

  • Risk Assessment - it is your responsibility to ensure the suitability and safety of the location where you will be practising.

  • Health and Safety - Teachers will be providing feedback in order to help you perform the programme accurately. You accept and acknowledge that your instructor is not liable for any injury or damage if you fail to comply with the instructions given during the session, in particular, but without limitation, in relation to safety and/or technique.

If you have any questions about these Terms and Conditions, please feel free to contact us.
